Leonard Nimoy died Friday morning at his home in in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA.  He was 83.  Nimoy was best known as an actor for his role as Spock in the Star Trek series.  His love of creativity and the arts expanded beyond acting to film directing, poetry, singing and photography.  He had been a lifelong photographer, with his work widely exhibited and in numerous private and public collections. A book of his photographs, Shekhina, was published in 2002.  In 2007, he followed up with The Full Body Project: Photographs by Leonard Nimoy, a study of full-bodied women, some of whom were involved in what is known as the “fat acceptance” movement.

A sample of Nimoy’s work is available on Mashable here.  Rest in Peace.
